Where. is a glance at the state of mutation in our living spaces: mutating cities, buildings, bodies, etc.
At this very moment that you and I are perceiving here-now, we live in an image that emerges after here-now collides with our there-thens. I want to call it Where..
Where. is an image constantly generated. Often it is not very vivid and explicable, nonetheless we are at ease with it — it is not where?, but where. ; sitting humble between here and there, in the exclusive, fugitive context of anonymity and desubjectification. We keep updating it but at the end of the day can not — and should not — remember it, for If we can, where. becomes there.

Starting with the idea of cramming the layers of memory into layers of material, 77 unique versions of a collage made up of the scenes of Tehran and New York were risographed over the course of one intense night of nonstop work. The manual labor and mechanical aspects of working with the risograph machine, symbolized the struggle of sourcing and analyzing the very recent memories, imprinted in the smeared layers of ink that were not left to dry and set before going through the machine. The variations, between 1 layer of 1 color to 11 layers of seven colors, were folded into The book 298 Postcards in Real Color.
